To focus on the 2 main good points of this anime that led me to rating it 8/10, I'll start off with the plot. A big selling point for this anime/manga is that the plot is just simply not what you expect and comes with shocking plot-twists. This is something that makes a lot of manga readers wish that they were anime-only for this show, simply due to the efficiency of beyond-surprising plot-twists that has much heavier impact on a watcher if they were watching it blind. Let alone the plot-twists, the plot itself is very entertaining and covers the entertainment industry in auncomfortably realistic & dark light. Despite this, it is still an anime that provides comfort and joy which for me personally has always been a very important aspect of anime. I do not tend to enjoy anime that only make me uncomfortable constantly with no other feel and this anime definitely juggles both comfort and discomfort perfectly.

Secondly, the characters! Complexity & development of the characters is definitely one of the anime's strongest points and the way that the scenarios that different characters go through subtly shape the character's personalities is just perfectly realistic. The protagonist (Aquamarine Hoshino/Gorou Amemiya) has one of the most complicated psychology I have ever seen in anime. Despite him being the protagonist, a character type which us as watchers are supposed to understand, sympathize with and root for the most out of all the characters, he can be extremely difficult to understand. Ever since the first moment of the first episode, he made it very evident that he is someone with a questionable mind of sorts. Having a protagonist like this is definitely something that makes your mind race trying to unpack and understand him. There is also Ai Hoshino, who is a main character and practically the face of Oshi No Ko. In the anime and in our real world, she is perceived as the perfect cute girl; the one who people would label things like "best girl". The writers could've left her at that, just being this incredible, easily adored and not replaceable main character. However this would not be a realistic character, and as I said before; this show covers thing in an uncomfortably realistic light. The character writing & background behind Ai is so complicated and well done that it makes a girl as unrealistic as her seem real.

Overall there were many other incredible aspects of the anime that make it top quality; the animation; the directing; the music etc. Definitely an anime that anybody should give a go if they are an anime fan.
