Review of My First Girlfriend is a Gal

well... i'm here again! because its a seasonal anime. SO what do i think about this anime? kinda disappointing, kinda okay-ish. A bit torn Story: 6 Not a bad story overall. A very generic rom-com/ semi-harem vibe. Its not exactly the best, but its not like overly bad either. its pretty...generic. You get some laughs, you get some romance, you get some ecchi. And thats all good, but like i've said before, anime should be pushing the boundaries of whats possible, and this stays pretty safely in reality. Maybe that's just me, but it lacked something that could have put it beyond what it is now. The premiseis easy to follow, the MC is an idiot, but again, nothing really stands out in this anime. Its not romantic enough, funny enough or ecchi enough to be memorable. which is why its good, but not great. Oh yea, and the story is predictable at the end.

Art: 7
It's a new anime, so the art is good. Some proportions may be off (some proportions may be waaaaay off), but overall its nice, its bright. colors are a bit too... clashing for my liking, but Overall not bad. Its not as sharp or high quality as i would like to see, and the art style is kinda...childish. Also maybe its just me or do the 4 guys bear an eerie similarity to the 4 boys of prison school? in design anyways.

Sound: 6
Honestly its again, not bad, but not amazing either. none of the opening or closing songs caught my attention, the songs in the anime didn't do much to build on emotions/tensions. But there is some sound. Its just not memorable. I will give some props to VA selection, they were not bad.

Character: 5
there was absolutely no character development. characters stay exactly the same throughout the story. They're more ornaments to the story rather than directors of it. They feel... static, the story flows around them and they do nothing. They're funny, they provide comic relief, but again, they dont go over the top about anything. so a very average score for that.

Enjoyment: 5
Unfortunately had to go 5 again. It's enjoyable to some extent. Its not painful to watch. Its just predictable. I enjoyed it, but not superbly. Its just another mediocre anime that does its time. As someone who actually immensely enjoys the rom-com ecchi genre, this was both good and bad at the same time. the comedy was good, ecchi was present, and romance was decent, but thats all it really was. it wasn't something i would reccommend, or something i would say is amazingly funny or anything

So for a predictable story around some static characters, a 6 isn't too bad. Though personal bias is playing into it somewhat. Sometimes i think about this anime and i like it, sometimes i don't. Its not groundbreaking in what it does, but it does at least provide what you expect from it. The romance of it is okay, a bit childish, but serviceable. The comedy is funny, but not exactly sidesplitting. itll make you snort a bit, but not laugh out loud. The ecchi is there but sadly THERE ARE NO NIPS. THERE ARENT EVEN NUDE SCENES. yea.overall just a very generic, decent anime. Broken down it would probably be 1 for story + 3 for ecchi +1 for enjoyment + 1 for art = 6 overall
