Review of Fire Force
Despite all hate this anime gets, I found it quite riveting. Behind the amazing animations, sound effects, fight scenes, etc. I discovered a captivating plot that truly had me drawn after a powerful first episode. The general argument behind why the anime is disliked lies behind how “generic” and “overdone” this plot line has been done, along with the “cliche” character line up. I would argue the story is far more unique in a Shōnen anime than any new ones released post-naruto, one piece, bleach, fairy tale era. Behind the ominous mystery behind why infernals are spawning along with the cast of characters gives a tonof material to be built upon and further explored. The anime leaves a lot unanswered, but in a great way, having you wanting more and more after each episode.
Despite my high praise and genuinely giving credit where credit is due. It is definitely true the plot line of the anime is somewhat over done, however it is the premise that gives it its draw. The characters are well done with the exception of Shinra and Tamaki. Shinra being, yes, too generic and having too many “cliche” quotes leaves the watcher with a bitter taste lacking of originality. Tamaki on the other hand is thrown in to attempt to provide comedic relief to an overall ominous and darker type anime, though the role is already well fulfilled by Arthur.
Overall however, after the past 3 years of dry and basic Shōnen anime, Fire Force has stood out to me particularly the most and in my eyes it deserves far more praise and love!!! ❤
