Review of Land of the Lustrous

Houseki no Kuni is an anime that has an incredible production, beautifully animated, beautiful use of CGI, used in a story that this certain CGI belongs. It is an enjoyable ride for what it is. It has an intriguing world, and story. However, this is one series I have a huge problem with being only 12 episodes. With such an intriguing world and story, you can't short sell your beautiful work of art. With such high-level animation, and beautiful soundtrack, it is unfortunate this didn't get 24 or 26 episodes. There is so much more to this story, butthis just feels hugely rushed. That being said, it's a good watch.

- It's all rather beautiful, with a nice style to fit the theme.
Sound 10/10
- A beautiful meld of animation with music that really gives you a meaningful vibe.
Story 5/10
- The story they try to tell is rushed and needed more time to cook.
Characters 7/10
- Great cast of characters, but again, the 12-episode decision leaves some characters with very little development, or airtime for that matter.
Enjoyment 8/10
- I loved the piece of art both visually and audibly, but this could have been a masterpiece with the proper passion to its story.

Overall, I'd still recommend this to anime fans looking for something a bit different.
