In my youth I had seen the manga for sale, but I never gave it the opportunity, but it caught my attention for some reason (big mistake). A few years passed and I was intrigued by the trailer for the live action Ping Pong movie, because they used a song by a legendary Japanese alternative band that I liked called Supercar, which some time later, some members of this band formed another called LAMA, together with Kensuke Ushio, despite that, I didn't see her at the time either (another big mistake). I recently started listening to the OST of Ping Pong The animation and Iwas struck by "Hero Appears" and "Hero Theme", these songs drink a lot of the sound of LAMA and the OST in general I liked a lot. I said to myself, "Well, let's give the anime in this manga a try."

At first I thought it was the typical sports game, but as they tell you the story, the twists and turns it takes and the subtle depth in dealing with the human issues it deals with completely blew my mind.

One of the main themes that blew my mind was the theme of the hero and how the series was building it through the episodes. The theme of the hero is something that I have very well instilled since my childhood when I watched the Japanese robot series and Sentai on television. Although it sounds ridiculous to some people, in some way it has helped me to believe in myself or give me courage and strength in difficult times and thus achieve impossible things. This last time, as an adult, I have lost the passion and the way to do the things that I wish I could do. This series put me back on track to keep chasing those things that I used to love and I am enormously grateful to have seen this great anime.

Pin Pong The Animation represents that great legacy of more than 60 years of history that Japanese animation has included generations of children on the construction of the hero, that despite the defects and problems that we may have, we must not lose the will to believe in something that we really care so that it mobilizes us to pursue it. It does not matter that when you grow up you will not achieve what you want, because there are other paths in which you can explore, the important thing is to live the moment to the fullest and enjoy it, which is what this anime tries to tell you in a spectacular way.

After watching the series via streaming, I think I will buy the manga and the bluray, including the live action version because it is a masterpiece, the themes it deals with and how well the story is told.
