For any more recent fans I really do suggest this series. If you go into it with not a critical mindset, but moreso something to watch and have fun this is a great series. Albeit I may be biased cause it is one of my favourite mangas. The manga is a lot better than the anime and has much better story telling. The anime especially the second season was rushed and hastily put together and poorly adapted. The newest arc the manga has taken is really really good. I enjoy it and don't see the comparison to AOT at all.
