Review of The Heroic Legend of Arslan
PROS: -world building started nice -started good and interesting in the first episodes - the documentary like story telling was nice -architectural design was well done -OST was very well done and helped a lot in establishing the atmosphere CONS:-characters were uninteresting and static. They dragged down the story a lot. Mostly it felt like they were puppies who were doing what plot wants them to do and didn't get much depth.
-power dynamics were unrealistic, and most battles were 85-95% plot 5-15% strategy. War tactics were treated as a magic wand, and to the trained eye many outcomes were also unrealistic. Characters' powers were exaggerated which conflicted with show's overall focus on trying to be realistic.
-didn't have a conclusive ending
-main story --arslan gaining some common decency after spending years as a naive prince- was cliche
-art was bearable but it wasn't really good
-OP and ED wasn't really good for me
overall: 5/10 it is a good watch to kill your time, but overall it was pretty average and didn't develop much.
