Review of Fairy Tail
Fairy Tail was my very first anime and I love it to bits. Now, it is not a masterpiece but goddamn it's still enjoyable. Personally, it is objectively bad, if not terrible but somehow I never fail to enjoy an episode (except you, Key of the Starry Night arc). Every opening is fantastic (except you, Key of the Starry Night arc opening) and even the endings are cute and catchy. The fanservice is very prevalent but it doesn't take away from my personal enjoyment. The art style isn't the best at first but gets a lot better as you go like most longer anime. It containsa lot of "Power of Friendship" moments but that doesn't mean it's not good.
Characters do develop, relationships between characters do develop. They are still complex despite people just characterising them as 'Big Boobs with Friendship'. And almost every single character is strong, including the main character Lucy Heartfilia who most definitely can hold her own in a battle. Damsels in distress don't exist, characters get captured and need saving but they are never weak.
If you aren't a hypercritical anime watcher then I recommend this anime. It might not be Attack on Titan or FMA:B but it is still enjoyable.
An anime doesn't have to have deep themes and complex stories to be enjoyable.
