First off, I want to say that Neon Genesis Evangelion really cemented the legacy of anime. Without this, I do not think anime would thrive as well since it really brought many eyes to it. That being said its' age really does age itself. Although I love some elements, I will talk about it, the end does not really keep up. The Story: The story is basically about how huge "robots" (No spoilers!) fight Angels who are attacking Tokyo-3. Shinji is the main character who is a 14-year-old boy and the son of the NERV head who leads the Eva operations, aka the robots. Thestory really delves into the nitty gritty. It really explores the psychology of it. In fact, in the last few episodes, there is no story except really diving inside the psychology behind people. It was quite gruesome and wary to watch. I liked Evangelion though it was good.

The animation: 4:3 and old animation really did date itself. I liked the character design, and I really REALLY loved the creative use of some drawings later on in the season. Also *Chefs Kiss* that intro was something else animated. I loved the intro keeping pace with the music it was something else. And the Eva v Angels fights were amazing as well. Sometimes we get some lazy animation but for the most part, it was good, for the time that is.

The Music: There was really only one song and Ode to Joy but that intro music was so good. Really good.

The characters: Man this is where it gets WILD. The backstories behind these characters are ALL devastating. Shinji, Rei, and Asuka had a really sad one, and Misato, all had terrible upbringings and childhoods. It was devastating. The fact that they keep getting flashbacks and have PTSD from it is also terrible and it effects them mentally. I get to see how it affects them and the anime does a good job of portraying their emotions.

The final 2 episodes: ??? Still confused by it but I guess if I watch the movies I will get it all cleared up. Psyched for the movies tho!

That intro music was SO GOOD.
