If yu yu hakusho is the strong characters carrying decent to amazing fights Flame of recca is the inverse of that where the characters are more decent but the fights themselves are much better It does have an odd push towards nude torture scenes once or twice that feel surprisingly dark for what this series is. It was animated by the same group who did yu yu hakusho so much of the lighting and music you can hear will feel like that. Its something to experience and you will be impressed many times. More than I thought when I went in with no expectations.
