Plastic Nee-san is one of the very few gag anime that manages to constantly subvert the subversion, in most average gag anime, you can already tell what the punchline is going to be once you see the first few seconds of a scene. In most good gag anime that expectation is subverted, what you expect doesn't happen and you're surprised by something that you simply did not expect. Watch enough of those anime and you can probably tell what they want you to think is going to happen and what is actually going to happen. Plastic Nee-san is one of the few anime that manageto consistently go beyond that point. A scene is set up, you know a punchline is coming and you know what the usual subversion of that punchline would be. Not in this. To more or less "prove" my point I am going to take a scene from this anime. In said scene, the characters sit in a room playing cards or something, you're shown people playing baseball outside their window. Usually, someone on the field would throw the baseball through the window, ruining their cardgame or something along those lines, maybe hit someone directly in the face, the somewhat expected subversion of that would be a character dodging the baseball, getting hit but not reacting, etc. The subversion of the subversion in Plastic Nee-san is that the baseball doesn't do anything, it just slowly enters the room after the characters have already left after doing the main joke of the scene. I really enjoy that stuff and it happens constantly.
I'm not saying this is an "objective" 10, it just hit the right spot for me that Gintama and Nichijou did before this
