Review of Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo

Very out there, to say the least. From what I've seen the majority of the internet seems to really dislike this film, very much see it as a black sheep of the neon genesis franchise. Honestly for all of the movie's flaws, it's super interesting and fresh. I like Anno's approach on this movie, and I wouldn't have liked to see a rehash of the original, which seemed to be where Anno was headed with 2.0 Anyways the story and lore was kind of thrown out, similar to ep 25 and 26 of the original series, and whilst there was less psychological monologue the film iscentered on Shinji's psyche and puts you in his shoes. You only know as much of this new world as he does. A lot of the lore and story seem to be setting up for some big reveals in the next film, and this anti-climax probably would have been fine if Anno's original idea of airing the movies back to back would have happened.
