Anohana is one of the great classic anime you have to watch There is a subtle but definitive depressive tone throughout the anime, one can tell from the first episode.....it is not the kind of vibe given off by something very tragic in the past like what did happen in the anime but more so like time has stopped.... for the main character yadomi you can tell he is suffering all the time and it feels so bad to see him in that state. this i think sets this anime apart from the rest and truly makes it unique the characters are very well developed .......no needfor any monologuing to convey their feelings or what thehy are thinking but you just know, you can feel their frustration ,remorse, sadness

The opening and closing themes are perfect for this anime..... i mean perfect no closing or opening theme could have been better suited than Aoi Shiori (青い栞) by Galileo Galilei and secret base ~Kimi ga Kureta Mono~ (secret base ~君がくれたもの~) by Ai Kayano, Haruka Tomatsu, and Saori Hayami

Another thing i like is the ending....like any normal person i cried at the end and you will too but it is just the perfect ending to the anime everybody moves on while still having a special place in their hearts for menma

And to finish up this review ,i would like to say if you have a strong dislike for slice of life anime and are bothered about that aspect of the anime....don't worry..... you will love this i promise

Just be warned of the post anime depression and on a serious note i would urge not to watch this anime if you are going through a difficult time in your life due to the depressive tone set ,that i talked about earlier.1e
