Review of Durarara!!

okay, i was planning to review this anime earlier, but i couldn't find the right words to say, and even now that its finished, i still can't find the exact words, so im substituting for something like the words i wanted to find.. amazing. awesome. freakishkly wow.excellent. Super. more. more. Durarara is that kind of anime you can't go in to hate any of the main characters, even the antagonist (i'm pretty sure i loved Izaya). although it may not capture your ineterest at first (say, first episodes) but it certainly pays off to watch it all the way. Story: the first episodes seemed a bit dul, thetypical student-goes-to-city-and meets-with people kind of dull, throw in some more wierd people, and it really tends to show up corny. but enter a headless rider and you get... fantasy? i laughed at first, but as the whole thing was slowly revealed, i was taken in, of course, people only thought it was a simple piece of life anime, but here you go, sci-fi, action (yes. and its not only because of izaya and shizuo going at each other, why? you must watch and foind out) a bit of suspense, throw in some drama, friendship, piece of life, comedy, love? and you've got one amazing plot that comes with durarara!
next to that story comes the Twist, and durarara's got the most impressive ones yet. you can really never tell what's about to happen next, cause the creator gives you plenty of reason to think that one thing may be another. and for durarara, it is.

art:
Nothing really special with durarara's art, which pretty much suited the whole story, no outrageous hairstyles, or seemingly gravity defying hair. ordinary goodlooking characters with their own definitive styles.
animation is average, some excellent angles every now and then, nothing to special, action is sometimes a bit stiff but still excellently done.
coloring and toning suited the anime fairly well. not too bright for shoujo, not too shounen-ish, not to dark, just right.

sound:
soundtrack, durarara's got some good music to back up the whole thing. both opening and ending songs are catchy, and just giving in the right amount of elements to want to watch the anime.
dubbing, when i saw that mamoru miyano(Yagami light-dn, Setsuna F, Seiei-gundam 00) and hiroshi kamiya(Yuzuru otonashi-angel beats!, teiria erde-gundam 00) and jun fukuyama(lelouch lamperouge-cg, watanuki kimihiro-xxxholic) are going to be casted, i made up my mind that they again will make an outstanding work with this anime, and bring in toshiyuki toyonaga(Shoichi Irie-khr), daisuke ono (sebastian michaelis-kuroshitsuji), and others, i was not mistaken, they certainly brought to life one of the most ineteresting anime to be shown this year.

character:
if there was one thing i learned with watching durarara, its that, everyone has a secret, and everyone struggles to survive. if the story and twist are amazing enough, wait until you learn about the characters. seemingly normal, but each with a suprisingly different other life of their own. Mikado, who turned out to be the leader of a suprisingly large group of people, Kida, who is trying to run away from something he is practically tied to for life, Anri, who has more to her than just good looks and nice curves. nearly everyone in this series is lovable, from the ever pervert when it comes to celty Shinra, to the headless dullahan celty, to the ever violent and streetsign swinging shizuo, to the anime otakus that was walker and erika, to the ever reliable kadota, to the ever sly and VERY adorable Izaya Orihara (who was my favorite character by the way), and even Simon, who always just seemed to be selling russian sushi all throughout the anime, will be generally making their way to your very nerves.Even the smallest of characters served their part in every plot, which certainly made every character in durarara interesting.

enjoyment and overall:
there is no need to say that i very much enjoyed this anime and will certainly be wanting for more of it, the first conflict may be over in the 24 episodes that it was aired but i am sure that most fans will be wanting for a continuation of all things that makes ikekeburo district, the durarara district.

recommendation:
I recommend this anime for all those who like twist in plots and those who do not want a dull anime. or even if your just running out of interesting anime, Durarara!! is one sure to capture your taste!
