Review of Redline
Would recommend if you like racing, but otherwise, I think you're getting 105 minutes of mediocrity. The story to Redline is pretty straight forward. That certainly doesn't mean that it's bad per-se, but I just don't think that there is anything incredible worth noting. I have to say that part of the plot line I found confusing and I think was added for the sole purpose of making the actual race seem harder than it should've been, but ultimately, the "bad guys" feel like little more than a nuisance. I personally did not like the art, although I could see how some would find it reallywell done. I wasn't a fan of the "stretch" they used several times throughout the show to denote something going fast and I felt that at times the art was just mediocre. Sometimes scenes would feel to dark.
Sound was good, nothing remarkable to say about it.
I actually liked the two main characters, but overall felt like their backstory was a bit forced. I wasn't really quite sure why it was necessary to include other than to say they've met before and that JPs inspiration to get into racing was Sonoshee.
Overall, I liked Redline, but there are certainly much better things to watch out there. Would recommend if you like racing, but otherwise, I think you're getting 105 minutes of mediocrity.
