Review of High School of the Dead

This anime turned out to be surprisingly enjoyable. I first came across the memes back in 2018, when I was still new to anime, but I avoided it at the time because it was known for the fan service. Watching it now, I genuinely enjoyed both the ecchi and gore elements. The dub also added an unexpected layer of comedy; sometimes it was so bad in serious scenes that I couldn’t help but laugh. My main criticism is the excessive fan service and the lack of real story progression. That said, once you get past the infamous episode 6, you’re practically immune to it. The showitself is pretty simple, it’s not trying to be deep or well written. It’s just stupidly enjoyable, a bada$$ action anime with over-the-top fan service.

Overall, I’d give it a 7/10. It could’ve been higher if a second season existed. ;D
