Review of Shiki
Shiki. One of simply, if not, THE most underrated anime of all time. Why is that? Because it doesn't feature fighting, no magic, no Nen, No villains trying to DESTROY THE EARTH!!, nothing. It's just people coming back to life, and becoming vampires. And I love every second of it. Story - 8 It doesn't really have the STRONGEST story, it isn't until like, episode 12 when you start to become hooked to the story. These vampires, or shiki, start infesting the village and the people of the village don't do (and don't know) until it's too late, and multiple deaths happen, and people move away. Mostepisodes are just exposition, but it's the last few that'll hold you on the edge of your seats.
Art - 10
The art is kind of weird, but you tend to get used to it as you go along. It's not the WORST art ever, just unique.
Characters - 6
Not many of the non-Shiki characters seem to change throughout the series. But other than Masao, the Shiki are coldblooded killers who will stop at nothing to turn it into a village for them only. My favorites would have to be Natsuno, Megumi, Toshio, and Sunako.
Overall, Shiki is a violent, GORY series (especially in the last 4 episodes) that will start out slow, but eventually gets better and better as time goes on, and when it's over, you'll want to watch it again. I recommend both Japanese and English dubs.
