Review of High School DxD

Disclaimer: This is in no way a professional review and Im not talking for everyone and just for me, my opinion! Also I watched this Anime for a Friend of mine and this is a Genre I usually don't watch. Starting with Issei, he was a bit of a more interesting MC of an Ecchi Harem than expected, most of that is due to Yuki Kaji's Fun Performance and how he wears his thoughts and Feelings on his Sleeves. Rias, our main girl, was a bit of a disappointment tho. Not living up to the hype, she came off as vapid and at times downright creepy towards Issei to me,talking about him like property at times and comming onto him where it isn't always clear if Issei enjoys it.
Only after the Phoenix-Arc she become a lil bit more likeable to me.

The other Characters are fun but pretty one note and it was fine to me, I knew they weren't the focus of the first season so it reluctantly accepted that.
Asia was a nice breath of fresh air, her chemistry with Issei kept me watching for the first half of the Show, but in the later half she continued to fall into a stereotype and felt flat to me.

The Animation was all around good, especially for the female characters, and the Soundtrack worked and enhanced the Show's Atmosphere.
The Plot however was formulaic and to be expected for this genre, but at times exactly that predictable-ness made it hard to keep watching.

The Ecchi was good I suppose, tho felt entirely out of place mostly. I didn't need to see a boob every time a character had a tragic moment or had an important conversation.
It was fine in the right, upbeat moments, but felt disrespectful to the characters in the important ones.

All in All I gave Highschool DxD a 4 out of 10, It is a fine Ecchi Anime but it wasn't something I enjoyed.
