Inning! · review
Pretty standard slice of life about a baseball "imitation" club in which the members imitate famous baseball players instead of playing actual baseball much to the dismay of their new member. Overall average in most aspects. The only hook it really has is that, unlike most slice of life, there are some actual arcs and minor character progression. Unfortunately, the series ends quite abruptly with no real ending, and I would have liked to see how the story changed if it had gone on for longer. Another thing I enjoyed is that the series and its characters have a genuine love of baseball, with entire pages dedicatedto characters debating which kind of the double plays they think are the most impressive.
Humour and tone-wise, it’s pretty similar to the mangaka’s other work Aiura so if you enjoyed that maybe check it out.
