Tears on a Withered Flower · review
A pretty good manga for anyone who is burnt out by regular shonen romcoms and wants something a bit more mature , grounded in reality and about adults instead of high schoolers or adults behaving like high schoolers. This could very well act a a litmus test whether you would want to get into the josei genre or not , It has the pros and cons that come with the genre . Pros - Story told from a adult woman's POV and her internal thoughts and monolouges - Tight pacing - Likeable characters - Erotic scenes exist to advance the story and have meaning , no unnescessaryfanservice
Cons
- Male characters have they typical Josei builds , slim , tall , shredded 6 packs despite not working out , samey looking faces etc and prety much no variety (but the male lead is pretty likeable)
- Minimal character development of the male characters
- Some people might find the female self insert too similar to other genres
OVERALL REVIEW
Pretty engaging read for anyone who is planning to read josei for the first time , kinda formulaic for any veteran enjoyers .
