This season added characters from the Isekai series' The Eminence In Shadow and Cautious Hero to the adventure. Similar to my complaints about Naofumi and Raphtlia not doing much in seaosn 2, I was also disappointed that the same issue happened with the characters Ristarte and Seiya Ryuuguuin from Cautious Hero. In fact, I think they do amazingly less than Naofumi and Raphtalia do in season 2. But thankfully the Eminence In Shadow characters more than make up for that. in fact, they, specifically Shadow himself, are kind of like the main focus, with them being super mysterious throughout the seriesthat the other characters, especially Ainz and Tanya, are trying to figure out. Like always I love that the characters are in character and how they bounce off of each other. This is especially seen with Shadow, who's always trying to act all cool in a cheesy, edgy, 14 year old sort of way, and the way everybody else reacts to that is hilarious. But for me the funniest scenes in this seaosn are when the Spear Hero, who finally joins the adventure, gets the crap beat out of him. For some reason, while he's searching for Filo, he calls a bunch of hte other women pigs, I have no idea why or if that's a thing in The Rising of the Shield Hero, but either way seeing him get pumbled always puts a smile on my face. And the finale of this season is arguably my favorite finale in this franchise so far. One last thing though, I noticed that characters from That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime haven't been included yet, but then I discovered that it's probably because Kadokawa, which owns every series used so far, doesn't own Slime, which I had no idea, so sadly we'll probably never get to see them take part. Although Kadokawa does own Mushoku Tensei and it hasn't been added yet, so hopefully in season 4.
