Review of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2

This season is the definition of how different a series can come out with a different director. The first season I can see why people liked it, but it was legit just shonen slop IMO. It wasn't the greatest, it had some points where it was better, but it was not good enough for me. This season felt like a switch flipped. You can tell that the same director of Chainsaw Man worked on this one because it has the same ambiance. It is such a unique approach on the series and it made it so much better. I think the content of the seasonhelps as well because it's more serious, but I think if it was directed the same as the first season, I would have definitely dropped the series within the first 3 episodes. But by the first episode, you could tell there was something different about this season compared to the first. Yes, they reduced the detail on everything, but I honestly do not see how that is an issue. I personally think animation means more to me than detail to a degree, but I think that the trade-off in this series was needed. The fights were amazingly animated and super hype. The direction in the fights was unlike anything seen before I can't lie. I would argue that this season has some of the best fights in all of anime animation-wise. I think the direction and the animation is what made the anime great for me. The only thing that sucks is that the staff were extremely pressed for time and overworked, so half of the things that were being worked on, especially on one major fight, was cut out. If you look it up, you can find the full fight. In that one major fight, it might have had some cuts in the original anime that were hard to follow, but with the full fight, all the cuts make sense (because you can see that the jump was literally a big scene cut out). I would recommend this if you watched the first season and were iffy about it or if you liked csm's direction in how they portrayed the show. This season is a 10 out of 10, and this season itself is part of my top 10 (but not the series as a whole).
