Review of Summoned to Another World for a Second Time
Started out ok, ended poorly. The premise (as seen in the title of the show) is a pretty good one. It's not very often that you get to see a world for a second time. Unfortunately the show fails to live up to the premise. The idea always seemed to be that since this would be the main character's second time in the world we would avoid most of the standard isekai tropes of learning the currency system and the languages and everyone freaking out over how powerful the MC is. In fairness, we do skip over that. The problem is that we then need tocreate a world and get the rules across to the viewers.
The first 3-4 episodes are decent enough, and if the show had continued at that pace this review might be a mixed, or even recommend. The problem is that after that point we ended up with several episodes of long and arduous backstory, stale animation, and mediocre fight scenes.
