Story wise I think this anime does a very nice job. My opinion/rule is that is order to tell a truly complete story you need more than twelve episodes, this is rarely ever a rule that is broken. However I think Deca-Dence does come very close to breaking this rule. If more episodes were added I would have liked to see them be about the mc/her father and how the daily lives of the "tankers" was one big struggle. To be blunt I want more world and character building. Other than that the story was great, but a little predictable from time to time. 8/10 Theart was solid, I don't have very many complaints. The only complaints I do have is the amount of cg used. Now to be clear the cg in this anime is well implemented and isn't terrible looking like it typically is in anime. My opinion/rule is that the less cg used the better. After watching a lot of anime this rule has become more of a guiding idea, cg is used where is should be and isn't used just to cut corners. The action scenes are impactful and enjoyable, although a tad bit crushed feeling from time to time, but overall were a highlight of the animation. Overall if every anime was animated with this much love and attention I would honestly be pretty happy. Didn't completely blow my mind, but was very good. 8/10

Sound wise I really liked the music and plan on eventually picking it up. It does feel a tad repetitive, not every time a track is played do I feel like I'm hearing something new, but that's okay. I watched the English dub and thought the voice acting was on point. Lines didn't fall flat and there were no standout annoying voices that you often find in dubs. If the music was a bit more dynamic and a little more impactful it would be 10/10, but we aren't quite there. Again if every anime got this level of voice acting I would be pretty happy, but I would have liked to see a slightly more robust soundtrack. 8/10

I really enjoyed the characters, the show takes itself seriously when it needs to and pokes fun at the occasional edgy lines and personalities of the character(s). Some of the characters were a little tropey and semi-predictable, but lets be real anime is just kind of like that. When I watch anime I expect to see anime characters, it's not good to be tropey, but in small doses I find it acceptable. The supporting cast is a little one sided in the two perspectives we get, but overall the supporting cast added a lot to this anime. The main characters were fun to watch and bounced of the supporting characters well. Really well done. 9/10

I'm gonna kind of brush past enjoyment because it is super subjective and I try to make my reviews as objective as a review can be(Since they are inherently subjective). I wasn't totally immersed for the entirety of the anime, but for the large majority of the time I was. So that to me is a 9/10

Overall there are places where I wanted to see more content namely the story and soundtrack. The art wasn't mind blowing or perfect by any means, but it was enjoyable and left me satisfied. Other than that it is a great anime, I would recommend considering watching it if you are looking for something to watch. If I were to describe the premise in a single sentence: Deca-Dence feels like what Wreck-it Ralph would be like as an anime. Not that is about the same thing it just makes me think about Wreck-it Ralph a little. Overall I really like it and want to pick it up on blu ray eventually. 8/10, solid anime
