Review of Vinland Saga Season 2

A perfectly suited sequel to the action packed first season of Vinland saga. The season gave us a truly deep down dive into the character of Thorfinn and an increased duration of time establishing his character and allowing more complex emotion to be shown. Which was a part of why Thorfinn has seen a growth in admiration due to departing of his simplistic revenge seeking narrative displayed in season 1 which lacked nuance. The animation was amazing as it was in the first season just a tad bit less immersive with the reduced level of action and combat the music wasa personal favorite of mine as it really suited the themes of the story and reflected the journey of the main cast of characters and their persona and emotional growth.
The story , probably Vinland sagas greatest strength was again superb.The continuation of Thorfinns story and quest for revenge having failed in last seasons finale left us an empty and ambitionless version of himself allowing him a opportunity to face and reflect his current reality and past actions from a different perspective .Due his encounters with Askeladd, Einar Ketil and snake, Individuals in which drastically differ from him in both origin and character allowing Throfinn a chance to change for the better or for the worse.

This season was massive shift in narrative from the first season focusing more on Thorfinn as a human being and individual in mundane setting which was personally enjoyed thoroughly.
Another amazing season from Mappa and Makoto Yukimura.
