Review of Dan Da Dan
Unbeatable. Makes everyone else look worse by comparison. Has the vibrant colors and emotive faces of an emotional drama, the goofy expressions and fast-paced dialogue of the best slice-of-life`s, and the balanced combination of monster-of-the-week and main plot progression of a great shonen. Don't be mistaken though: Dandadan is a ROMANCE. That's its most powerful feature, and rightly so: the chemistry of the main duo is delightful, while still being full of teenage awkwardness in a way that's funny without being tiresome. Everything about this show has been properly seasoned - the OP track is catchy and compatible with the show vibes, the monster design is iconic(and can be very effectively scary on occasion), character dynamics aren't allowed to grow stale - when Dandadan wants to make you laugh, you'll laugh; When it want to randomly flex its storytelling chops it'll manage to drive you to tears in less than 10 minutes off of a completely separate story.
