Review of Samurai Champloo
I really like this show. I went into it with relatively low expectations; after all, it just looked like the average loner samurai on a revenge quest anime. But I’ll be the first to say I was blown away. Its visuals were incredible, and the story was simple but still managed to be complex enough that you looked forward to what would happen next. And don’t even get me started on the humor! As you can tell from my bio, I’m not really one for comedies, but I found myself actually laughing at some of the jokes in the show, which was a first forme. The only reason I would say this show isn’t a ten is that in the later episodes, namely 22 and 23, it kind of takes you away from the tension that was being built. It’s not really that big of a deal, but I felt it would’ve made more sense to have been put in the earlier episodes.
