Hokuto no Ken: Yuria Gaiden · review

This is set before the apocalypse happened, which you would think it would give more insight on the characters: it doesn't. The art style feels like a cheap shojou and doesn't do any justice for the original material. While it is funny to see Shin riding a motorcycle or Juuza just being himself, there's not enough substance to make it worthwhile. It's mostly about how perfect Yuria is and it continues to elaborate on it with some more bland stories of how she's sacrificed herself for others, with little to no cost to her in the end. It reads almost like a short workof fan fiction, just replace Yuria with any other self insert.
Overall, kind of mediocre. If you really want to see the characters from HnK again, it might be worth it since it's such a short read. Don't expect anything ground breaking.
