Review of A Lull in the Sea

tbh the only reason this show is not a 3 is that the ending was passable, and the music is great. However, I feel that the plot is overly dramatic, the worldbuilding is cruelly simplistic, and the characters hardly have any distinct personality traits besides what other characters they have feelings for. The animation also ranges from good to subpar. Some of the water animations are done with CGI and it's really jarring, especially when this show commands respect towards the sea. I can't really put any specifics here in this review without spoiling things, but throughout maybe the first 22 episodes ofthe show, I was just moaning and groaning at how whiney all these characters are just for the sake of artificial drama, and I'm not sure if the payoff was worth all the time spent.
