Review of Gangsta.
This Anime was really interesting to watch, it captivates you, there's a lot of psychology going on. You get to know the past of the 3 main characters and what shaped them as they are. You can see what happens to people that were born in tough neighbourhoods, or even in rich ones (and see that their lives were not so rich or beautiful), and how their friendship is born. Some say that Alex was a totally useless character, I beg to differ. She represents any women that by circumstances of poverty, orphanity, loneliness, or whatever might happen in someone's life, end up getting exploited by apimp and sent into forced prostitution. Abused/abandoned by her father, It was her only way out to help her little brother. She shows usual signs of trauma that women in her situation present, specially when you see her entering in survival mode (see the episode where she approaches Worick, I won't spoil).
She also shows a kind, sweet, shy personality, which is how she really is.
Worick and Nic are the typical friends that are more like brothers. They were both alone in the world, with no mothers, and abusive fathers. Constantly beaten and neglected, they created a strong friendship, and eventually helped each other to get out of that abuse. Each have unique personalities, and then there's this amazing fact:
Nic is deaf and you get to see sign language (even in the ending song of the Anime) and how a deaf person sounds when they try to speak out loud. This is the first and only time I saw deafness being represented in one Anime. Just that makes this series quite remarkable.
As for the whole Anime in general, this truly needed to be a 24 or 26 episode show. It was just impossible to develop such complex characters and stories with just 12 episodes. However, the studio that made the Anime went bankrupt, so you have to consider that might be the cause for so much things lacking.

The last (6?) episodes of this show were very confusing and tried to add too much information and new characters, and I think that was a major flaw that completely crippled out Gangsta. I was expecting to see more of Worick and Ric but they were quite absent in the last episodes, and then you have the final episode which is basically an end...with no end!
You don't know how the story concludes or what happens to each of the main characters. So the show was very disappointing and bitter in the end. You started to know these characters and love them, and you don't even get to know what happens. So I only advice people to see Gangsta if they don't mind an Anime with no conclusion, it's only good for the characters story.
I wished the producers could have spent more time developing the plot, making all the bases to make this Anime consistent, doing at least 24 episodes. It would be more than enough to put this together and make it amazing (wish they had at least the funds to do so).
Either way, I enjoyed it for what it is, and would watch again.
