Review of The Rising of the Shield Hero
Alright, here I go with my first review here. Please take in account that this is the point of view from a manga follower. Summary: When the anime for this series was announced, me and many other people reading the manga was really pumped up. The art-style on it is gorgeous and from what the PV's showed it was looking really good. Sadly, the production didn't keep up. Animation: 5 Starting with the section with the lowest score, this was also the biggest letdown. The first episodes were looking great, but sadly the animation kept becoming worse, to the point were it was almost unbearable. I tried to introducea friend to the series, but they almost dropped it from how bad it was. Gladly, as most of the time the studio saved up for the last episodes but still doesn't save it.
Sound: 7
The overall OST and sounds in the anime are alright on the good side. The ending was specially good, at least for me. About general sound effects, nothing remarkably good nor bad.
Characters: 8
I came to like the characters on this series a lot. Even though they follow a pretty generic line, they have some kind of charm that I feel attracted to. The heroes are written so you come to like them, while the villains are written so you hate them, as it should be.
Story: 8
The story is pretty good. Everything that happens is explained (sometimes kind of late) and sticks out from the usual isekai. It ends up being a story that you enjoy rather than kill time with.
Enjoyment: 7
Even with the inconveniences, I was able to enjoy this show until the end, probably because I already knew it was good. But for people new to the series it wasn't that good as I mentioned before.
Overall: 7
When I was halfway this show I wanted to give it an 8, but the worsening quality of the animation made me think it twice and lower the score. An entertaining show nevertheless, but get ready for some really nasty CGI.
