Review of Space Dandy

I want to start by saying I have enjoyed dandy for many years now and am still finding new things to love about it, that said, this anime is definitely not for everyone. For those people who love comedy, bear an open mind, and aren't easily offended, this anime will be a shining star in your life. the premise to each episode is 1 overarching, don't think about it too hard, slapstick adventure, with as much comedy packed in idea. this idea becomes emboldened and expanded on as the protagonists live out the scenarios in the most hilarious ways, dawning a "don't sweat the small stuff"attitude all the while.

the episodes of this show can range from something as simplistic as discovering the joys of fishing, to exploring the life of a would be shut in who ventured away from home to make his own way in life. there's so much depth and love to each story and each episode is brought to life through amazing voice acting (both English and Japanese) and the art + animation are so great that its legitimately difficult to tear your eyes away. Each episode feels like a masterpiece unto itself.

I couldn't help but laugh, smile, snicker, tear up, and sometimes just face palm throughout the entirety of this series. definitely an anime to watch with snakes and drink close at hand as this will keep you watching and invested through and through.

shifting gears, I must say that I feel there is a bit of futurama in this show, and after giving this anime a watch I am sure you will agree with me, and know what I mean without having to hear an explanation.

all this and more are the positives and why id recommend this to anyone who will listen. however ill also cover some of the things that might put off viewers, or why some people should avoid this show, ill call it my Post recommendation warnings:

there is a lot of stereo-typing and oversexualization of females
there are a lot of sexual innuendo jokes
there is only a little bit of continuity to this show, it is more pronounced in season 2
the main character is no genius but he is charismatic
nothing that happens will ever really happen for a reason
