Samurai Shodown The Motion Picture · review

Take a break from the epic two-hit killed action of the original game and check out the low-quality animated adaptation! Some historical background scenes are somewhat interesting, but the main plot is a lot of nonsense. The animation is rough and basic, the direction is poor, and the voice work is as poorly acted as the almost non-existent sound design. There is none of the visual beauty of the game's backgrounds and the vast majority of characters don't do much more than shout two phrases and show off their signature technique. There is a possible decent base that is lost in a clearly low scope productionnot helped by lack of capable hands shaping it.
