So basically, the animé Anohana started out on a hot summer's day with the main character Jinta Yadomi living his life as a peaceful, reclusive hermit, staying at home, skipping school, and playing video games instead without a care in the world. That is until one day he meets his childhood friend, Meiko (Menma) Honma, who keeps pestering Jinta to grant her a forgotten wish. Jinta then proceeds to ignore Menma, thinking that he is merely hallucinating her due to the blazing summer heat. After all, Menma already died years ago due to a drowning accident. After Menma keeps pestering Jinta to grant her wishso she can pass on to Heaven, Jinta finally believes that she is indeed the ghost of Menma who has returned to tie up loose ends before passing on to Heaven. After accepting Menma's return, Jinta must then go and find his other childhood friends, aka the "Super Peace Busters," to help him grant Menma's forgotten, unknown wish. The only problem is that the Super Peace Buster group has long since parted ways and disbanded. Can the group put their differences aside, get together as friends once more, and help figure out what Menma's wish was so she can pass on to Heaven and rest in peace? The answer to this question and more will open to you in the Anohana animé, with a surprise tearjerker ending that's sure to leave even the toughest heart broken and in tears...............

I personally loved the Anohana animé. It's the perfect Slice of Life animé for those looking for something that starts off funny, has good plot, character development, and ends with one of the most tearjerker endings I've ever seen. I can't stress it enough, but I cried for a solid 20 minutes on that last episode. I've never cried so hard in my entire life until after seeing Anohana's ending. On top of that, everything in Anohana was pretty much perfect because it had excellent music, atmosphere, mood, and, most important of all, excellent character development. Anohana does an excellent job making you dislike a character, then build on that character in later episodes to the point where the character turns into someone you just can't help but love. Overall, this is one Slice of Life animé that you don't want to miss out on.
