Review of Sword Art Online

I am writing this after some time has gone past since I watched Sword Art Online so that I have had some time to think it over and evaluate it. (THERE ARE SPOILERS) I have not read the light novels but I'm pretty sure that the anime follows it. The plot is that a boy, Kirito, is stuck in a virtual reality video game with ten thousand other players who have logged on. To get out, they have to beat the game, if they die in the game they die in real life. SPOLIERS: The first couple episodes are good, but after that it is trash.They had a good concept with the stuck in a video game and an awesome main protagonist who through the rest of the anime (both seasons) has no little development. They painted him as some lone wolf who is a good sword fighter and is willing to go his own way but then completely ruin that with the introduction of his harem. I did not sight up tot watch some bad ass chick become the perfect wife/mother and lose all of her awesomeness.

If you want to watch some guy hoop up and collect girls into his group (even his sister/cousin) then this is the anime for you.

Also, they are only in Sword Art Online for the first half of the first season, the rest of it is in other video games. Even when they put the code for Sword Art Online into ALO, its STILL NOT TECHNICALLY SWORD ART ONLINE ANYMORE. Seriously.

sorry if I am ranting, but this anime too the wrong direction and did not fully explore everything they could have.
