Review of Black Lagoon

So im a guy. Not a whole lot of anime caught my attention at the time and i was fearing that i was losing my manliness by watching too much og cute girls doing coute thing while being cute, but then i found this gem. I might not be the best or the most prestigeous of anime, but i LOVED EVERY SECOND. The mix of violence, madness and just pure fun you get to see in this anime is amazing. That dosent mean that it dosent go easy on you with the hardhitting stuff. That it does too. The characters arent too special, but some are standouts.Revy (the one you see in all the fanart basically) is crazy enough that you dont know if shes joking or not, but stil has a little soft spot for our protagonist, Rokuro, or as you get to know him, Rock. He is a mildmannered japanese workerbee, whos abandoned by his company in the South China Sea. He isent a badass or a gunslinger, but you get to see the city of Roranapur and the people in it through the eyes of a somewhat innocent person. The 2 other crewmembers, Benny and Dutch are nothing more that a few lines and very little character.

The best characters are definantly the best part. I wont tell too much because that would ruin the fun and surprises. Lets just say that during the 2 seasons (and ovas) of this show you will come to fear maids, russians, small children, high irishmen and a taiwanese woman with a racist accent.

This show is one of the few were i recommend the dub. Its simply do to the fact that there is only 1 japanese person for 90% of the screentime. Then it makes a bit more sense that all the foreigners know english and not japanese.

This is an explosive, cursing, violent, a little disturbed, but hillarious rollercoaster of fun. Just dont watch it with parents or anyone that might be easily offended. There is a reason for that 18+ rating ;)
