It would be a lie to say that this anime isn't beautiful in both an aesthetic and emotional sense. The atmosphere reflects the essential purity of the two main characters love for one another i.e. the sunlight, cherry blossom trees, wind etc. and the flashbacks are similarly touching. However, where this fell flat was the unrealistic way the relationship was resolved. I know this was already going to be a very controversial and uncomfortable anime to watch, considering the massive age difference and incest, but i was fine to watch these two characters grapple with these feelings and attempt to reconcile them. However, it crossedthe line, in my opinion, numerous times and made Koshiro seem like an innocent victim to these feelings rather than an adult man who should be able to see the harm he was causing to his sister Nanoka. Situations like these aren't as romantic in real life - they typically end in trauma and pain. I would have liked to see that reflected a bit. But that could also just be my own inability to look past the age difference - the incest doesn't bother me as much as much as this does. Overall, its beautiful, and i undeniably felt for them. But it was unrealistic and overly idealized. I just cant justify giving it any higher of a score.
