Review of Devilman: Crybaby

Are the good reviews for this show a joke? That is a serious question... Story: 2/10 It was very dreadful. This anime could have done amazingly better if it was longer. The plot was so bad. It literally was this: main plot point in the beginning, the middle of the plot is just destruction, the end was just the beginning plot point with some more tears. This story could have actually done something good but the pacing was too fast. Art: 4/10 The art was decent. I didn't find anything wrong with it but it was just decent. Nothing remarkable, I've seen better. I will say Akriais hot but that's just a fact. The scenes in the dark could have been done WAY better. They weren't the best quality. That made it hard to understand what was going on.

Sound: 4/10 again just decent. Nothing remarkable. A lot of action sounds like boom, bang, etc. It just wasn't that good. This whole show felt rushed.

Character: 5/10 This is where this show thrived. Akira was a great character to look at AND listen to. Thankfully he was the best character considering he is the main character. They did his part well and I enjoyed everything about him. Miki was a great character as well. She was pretty bland in most of the show but when the world was ending she became important. The way she developed after that was good and that was actually one of the only good parts of the story. Some of the boys in this show... none of their names were worth remembering but they were the rappers; they were pretty cool I guess.

Enjoyment: 6/10 Devilman was IRONICALLY SOO FUNNY!! Me and my best friend watched this show in less then two days. We died of laughter SO many times during this anime! I don't think this show was supposed to be that funny but man it was so ironically funny. It should be under the comedy genre. Some of the funniest highlights: the way the devilmen ran like scooby doo, the extra gun noises (guns aren't that loud), the club scenes had so much fan service is was funny, miss bird lady was doing her thing.

Also I think the ending was supposed to sad but we were given no time to connect to the characters. I'm assuming we were supposed to trust Ryo and feel some type of way with his character development but we knew from the jump is all I'm gonna say.

Overall: 3/10 it was poor but funny. The only good thing about this show was Akira. Don't watch it unless you want a laugh.
