Review of Pop Team Epic

Poputepipikku has finally finished today. That was a personally terrible experience. Alright, so this show is about the absurd antics of two girls. They have names, but that doesn't really matter. This show was very hyped this season. Mostly because of the various memes coming out of it even before its announcement. You know those two girls, one with blue hair, and the one with orange hair but shorter then the other? Both flipping you off? That's what I'm talking about with this show. Just like what we started off with, this show is more of that. This show is like watching memes. There isa lot of different styles in this show, many of which are one offs. These can range to very creative, to very disgusting, but that's depending on what you like. It also gets very meta with itself, depicting references to other things as well as itself. I should also mention that there are effectively 2 versions of the show. There is a version where the girls are voice acted by girls, and another version where the girls are voice acted by men. Just to keep in mind when it plays twice and you don't know why. This adds to the absurdity.

There are multiple reasons I don't enjoy myself when watching this show. But it mainly boils down to the, "watching memes" portion I mentioned earlier. I don't like to watch random absurdity without any structure behind it. One segment is very different from the last. I understand that many people like this sort of thing, but I, for one, do not. In the later episodes, there is a sort of a story within it, which is the only part of the show I enjoy. But after that one off story is over, then it goes back to what it was doing before. Memes. I give Poputepipikku 3 out of 10. I hate it personally, but the greater masses will enjoy it I'm sure. So I recommend it to everyone that likes random things thrown at them.
