Review of Seraph of the End: Battle in Nagoya
This anime was nothing but incredible in my eyes. When I first started watching season 1, I really didn't know what to expect, how to feel or if I was even going to like it as when I watch an anime, it's always the same: Romance, Comedy, Isekai, Slice of Life, Fantasy and shows that are more laid back and nothing too serious. Seraph of the End was pretty much leaving my comfort zone and to be honest, I'm really glad I decided too. Each episode of Season 2 was filled with more action than the rest. Unlike season 1, season 2 left little to nodown time. It felt like something was always happening. Every single time something got revealed, it felt like such a surprise and revealing what was in the container at the end and the seraph (not spoiling was it was) COMPLETELY caught me off guard and at least for me anyways, was the very last thing I expected it to be.
Also the reveal at the end with Yu also caught me off guard.
There is one thing that's getting me and it's what is keeping me from giving this a 10 too and that's it leaves the anime on a cliff hanger. This anime finished in 2015 and as of writing this review, it's 2024. Meaning there's a high chance this anime isn't getting a season 3. The final couple of minutes cuts to an event 4 months later, doesn't explain what is is and then it cuts to the main cast about to set on their next mission (again no spoilers) - I have no problem with cliff hangers as I know it is there to raise suspense. However, putting it at the very end of the anime with no season 3 is such a low blow. I only watch anime, I don't read manga so maybe it continues there? It just feels off to me.
Aside from that I loved watching this show and coming from someone that doesn't tend to watch this kind of anime it felt like a really nice change of pace and it managed to get me to enjoy an anime that I would normally skip
