Review of Mob Psycho 100 II
Out of 100 Nobles watching… 100 were impressed! Mob Psycho 100 II continues to perform just as admirably as it did in its first course if not even going further beyond in its performance and execution than it did in season 1. In my thoughts on season one I mentioned it was “a miracle” that we could get something so masterfully crafted in the modern climate of animation production, but what does that mean when that miracle is performed again? I think it’s clear that Mob Psycho II is nothing short of divinity and is anime incarnate. A likely now dated meme would say this show hasSOUL.
To quote a friends impression of the show “people who say there isn’t a perfect Superman story can go **** off”. Mob really is the best execution of an all-powerful protagonist I’ve ever seen, and watching his personal growth carry over from last season I can hardly put into words the satisfaction it brings me.
As I grow older, I am joining a rapidly shrinking number of “old guard”. Cranky old people who curse the complacency and standards of the young. The entertainment industry will likely just keep on doing what it has been churning out turd after turd and one day I, and everyone like me will die out, and the only people left will be the youth who were raised on low budget CG car tires. Hand drawn expressive frames will be forgotten. Mob II keeps that fire in my lantern lit just that little bit longer. As long as a show like this can come along to stoke the flame the art in the industry will stay alive.
