Review of Mob Psycho 100 II

Mob Psycho 100 II is amazing. It is a step up from the first season, which was already good in its own right. Story: 7 It's quite a simple story. But that's what allows other components to shine. I'm not saying the story is bad, not at all, but the plot itself isn't outstanding in any way. Art: 10 If I could give it higher, I would. Mob Psycho 100 II's animation is stunning. Absolutely jaw-dropping. The pure spectacle, underscored by fluidity, makes it a visual triumph in every way possible. The art style is simple yet unique, and I think it's quite fresh compared to most animenowadays.

Sound: 10

The opening alone is enough for me to give it a 10. The musical choices in here are unique, almost progressive, and it compliments the dazzling visuals and sets the tone perfectly. I love the music in this show.

Character: 10

This show is a case study in character writing. This show's greatest strength is the ability to ground all of the spectacle and supernatural insanity with genuinely relatable, flawed, human characters. Mob was actually quite a boring protagonist in season 1, but in season 2, they flipped it and turned him into one of my favorite characters of all time. Reigan is actually unironically an amazing character. The strength of this central duo carries this show. The side characters are also a joy to watch, and the antagonists are zany yet full of personality.

Enjoyment: 9

I enjoyed this show a lot, for the reasons mentioned above. The spectacle of the animation combined with the excellent character writing make this show extremely satisfying from start to finish.

I did not expect Mob Psycho to be this good. I really didn't. But it is. It's that good. Everyone who hasn't watched it is missing out.
