Review of BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense.

After watching this show, I realized how naive I was before when reviewing anime. I forget that you have to understand who the anime is for and what the audience that watch this anime wants. Probably shouldn't be looking for things that the anime does not try to deliver. Often in times I hate anime that have poor plot, shallow characters with no character development, and no meanings behind the story. At first, I thought this show is just another generic bad MMO anime, and I am going to hate it. But I was wrong, I actually enjoyed watching it after I stopped looking for plot,development, and substance. It is just fun to watch Maple and her friends adventuring.

This anime is simply an anime that is meant to be watched without thinking too much. It does not focus on story, arc, or character development. You are not supposed to dig deep and find some philosophical meanings like, who am I, where did I come from, and where should I go etc. It is for people who want a lighthearted, relaxing, and fun anime with MMO elements.

If you want something deep and story-rich, look for anime which are made for audiences who want that, whether they are good or bad is another story.

By the way, the insert song is pretty good.

Overall, I enjoyed this anime.
