Review of The Rising of the Shield Hero

This show an easy example of my guilty pleasures. I recognize the show is mediocre, nothing inherently special or even slightly new. It's an isekai for no real strong reason like most isekais, and it's set in a typical fantasy world that we've all seen before again and again. And yet i mostly really enjoyed the series, and found good enjoyment in it. I would say that i don't have particularly bad taste or anything, as most things not well received i find great boredom in and drop immediately. but it seems like the basic bitch that i am i take great satisfaction in aprotagonist who is just a blatant ass, and gets things done. i guess i've just been around so many useless or gutless protagonists that one that takes action and does things is just refreshing enough to keep me arouond. Or maybe i'm just a sucker for loli harem adventures.

I'm not going to bother going into full depth for this. There are plenty of other reviews for that, but i can explain to you that if you like simple and basic stories that get to the point, and are more about satisfying adventurers with a good protagonist and his little party of likeable adventurers, then you'll like this show just fine. It does a good job of pissing you off, but also relieving you and making you feel good for the shit you had to go through. it doesn't do the shit like a lot of shows do that bring you no satisfaction or conclusion. It does that, and that's the whole point of the show. To make you feel satisfied.

The story almost felt like it was written by someone who read one too many stories about the protagonist getting kicked around and doing nothing but shouting YAMERO the entire time. This show is almost the entire opposite, as the protagonist does not take lightly to being shit on, and through the whole show actually fights against it and fends for himself. That's the best part, leaving it to be so enjoyable. At least to me. Do i recognize that the writing is still shit and mediocre at best, yeh for the most part. If anything just watch it for the blind entertainment, not th compelling story or deep characters.

If you just like to have some fun, watch this. It's why I recommend it. Don't look for some in depth bullshit deep story in every anime you watch. I know most of you don't. If you look for something depthy to have enjoyment you wouldn't be watching anime. Especially not an isekai.
