Fushi no Kami: Rebuilding Civilization Starts with a Village · review
I have very mixed feelings about this series. The first handful of volumes are 8/10 -- solid character, interesting premise, and good sense of momentum. However, it loses steam after certain plot points are hit and feels very meandering and aimless. There is minimal character development, and it seemed repetitive. I had to push myself to finish and it was just... meh. Very abrupt and no sense of real conclusion for any of the characters or even the plot itself. I recommend reading the first several books but then not so much after that. - Art is infrequent but very good - Characters are a bitflat but convincing
- Tons of detail about the progression of knowledge and scientific advancement
- While you might think this is going to be more focused on action an adventure based on early events in the books, you'd be wrong
