Hachi-nan tte, Sore wa Nai deshou! · review
This series focuses on kingdom building. The relationships with different heroines might feel politically driven at first making readers feel romantic development is lacking, but the protagonist does not ignore the heroines' affections (the heroines also work hard to reciprocate). The highlight is the shenanigans with an overpowered protagonist that is very involved with nobility. Readers might get irritated when the protagonist lets himself get pushed around by people weaker than him just because they are a high authority. The protagonist might even seem like a pushover. But regardless, I find it very entertaining and human to watch the protagonist struggle in various incidents asa rising noble. The downside would be that the story might feel too mundane at times because a large portion of the story(?) focuses on dealing with domestic affairs as a responsible noble (it will feel very slice-of-life).
The light novels is a long-running series with 30 volumes (as of June 2025) that had a lot of twists and turns and currently still on-going, so expect a lot of interesting developments as the manga adaption progresses.
