10 disgusting sushi ideas out of 10. I feel zero shame in telling you that this is one of my favorite anime. If you're not into kinda trite "friendship and [the activity that the show is about] is awesome!" type anime, this show isn't for you. But if you are, this is a really fun one of those. This show is just a fun, lighthearted experience about three dumb kids and the """sport""" they're passionate about. Sure, some of the conflicts/"twists" are kinda dumb, but the absurdity of things like "WOAH. KHROME LAUNCHED HIS BEY COUNTERCLOCKWISE???" being treated like an ultra serious controversy or the factthat theres a seedy back-alley Bey stadium behind what looks like a Costco are so goofy you just have to go with it.

The main three's friendship is really endearing to watch (the park scene in Episode 49 is a standout, as is the scene in an earlier episode where Robin cries about how much he loves his friends lol) and the way they all equally root for each other to win and help each other out when they lose is so adorable. Not to mention the voice performances of all three characters' English VAs is incredible, especially AJ Beckles as Jaxon.

My only real critique (besides some scuffed animation at points, but its a weekly OLM show so that's to be expected) is... Did they mean for Khrome's obsession with Jaxon/Blader X to come off so creepy? I think the writers were going for "oh, he's really angry that the one guy who could challenge him left his team" but it squarely lands at "this guy who looks like he's in his 20s is weirdly obsessed with a kid who is like 13", not to mention the way he treats Ciel (who looks to be about the same age as the main three) being also extremely weird. (that scene where Khrome does the yaoi chin tilt thing with his shoe genuinely caught me so off-guard I started laughing and yelling "WHAT THE HELL??") Khrome is the antagonist, so it works as a villainous trait, but maybe not in a TV-Y anime made to sell toys, guys, remember your audience. Again, I doubt "creep" is what the writers were going for but that's how it comes off, lol. Doesn't ruin the whole show, but it is something to keep in mind.

tldr: the funny toy commercial for children is peak and you should watch it
