Review of Gushing over Magical Girls

Whether you will enjoy this show rests on one question: Do you think girls getting spanked is funny? This is the entire point of the show. If you enjoy that premise, then this anime executes decently on it. The characters are well developed, the battles are creative and fun, and the story has a satisfying conclusion that honors the magical girl tradition. My main concern is the low budget. The OP and ED are great, but the BGM sounds like a porn soundtrack – which, yeah, it is, but that doesn't make it good. And the sex scenes look nice, but it's obvious that they cut corners elsewhere.It's especially grating in the beach episode, which spends half a minute or so flashing through a bunch of still images. And not the sexy kind of flashing either.

All in all, it's around what I'd expect from a Precure porn parody. Not for everyone, but if you like magical girl-on-girl action, then you'll like this.
