Horimiya really embraces what every "Slice of Life" anime should be, a look into the everyday lives of the characters portrayed in the show. This show goes above and beyond by now only showing you the lives and backstory of the main couple, but by introducing new characters throughout the story and giving them a story. Because of this, every character feels like the main character by the end of the show, even if they were only introduced within the last few episodes. The brand of comedy in this show is top-tier. Every character has their own quirks and does dumb things and all ofthe other characters acknowledge this and reference it throughout the show. Another demonstration of how close of a bond these characters developed over their last year of high school.

The emotions of each character are extremely relatable and precisely demonstrate how it feels to be in high school. Especially Miyamura, as he discovers what it means to have friends and confronts his past, in the form of his middle school self. The characters also frequently make use of slang in believable ways that make you develop even more of a connection with these characters. Despite all of these deep emotions present in each charatcer, the show does not come off as sad and will have you grinning throughout.

If you want a feel-good anime, this is the show to watch.
