Review of The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4

I'm not going to say I hated this season, because I didn't. However, to say this season was good would be a bit of a stretch in my eyes. I've reviewed the last 3 seasons, so I felt obligated to write one for this season as I was really looking forward to Season 4 after getting hyped after watching the last few episodes of season 3 but in short this season fell kinda flat. Season 1: Amazing Season 2: It was alright, bit boring though in my opinion Season 3: Pretty good, really enjoyed it Season 4: It felt very bland. Almost like a filler season more thananything. The first few episodes almost nothing happens. It just focuses on Naofumi and the others wanting a boat but is continuously left with not getting one for one reason or another. It then transitions into some lore for Atla and Fohl (which I did appreciate as I did find that to be interesting)

The season progresses and it really continues to go at a slow pace for basically the entire season. The only time it felt like we got some action other than the fight between Fohl and Jaralis was the final episode. It felt like such a slow burner season which I don't mind not having action in every episode, but it's really making me question the direction this series is heading and whilst I don't hate this season, it's not making me that excited for a season 5. I'm really hoping this isn't going to be the direction Shield Hero is going as I've really enjoyed this anime up until now and I hope in season 5 it's going to be a bit more interesting and it's going to be slightly more fast pace.
